Twitter Secure Authentication Via OAuth

First time you visit Tweetvisor.com click on "Sign in with Twitter" button. We do not ask for nor store your Twitter credentials.

  • After you click on "Sign in with Twitter" button, you will be redirected to Twitter.com website.
  • You will provide your Twitter account credentials to Twitter itself, not to Tweetvisor.
  • After successful authentication, Twitter.com will redirect you back to Tweetvisor.
  • This way, your password will be known by Twitter only.
  • Tweetvisor will automatically receive some unique authentication codes, so it may communicate back with Twitter on behalf of your account.
  • Tweetvisor will not attempt to make any action on your Twitter account without your permission. We dislike auto-DMs, auto-messages, and anything that is automatic and that may damage your online presence, brand and experience.

If first time user of Tweetvisor, you are now on the LITE template, ready to start exploring your new tweeting experience.

Manage Multiple Twitter Accounts

Tweetvisor allows users to manage multiple Twitter accounts without leaving the page. There is no limit now for the accounts that can be managed in a single session. The feature has been improved since we started offering it at our startup back in January of 2009.

Follow the link "Add Account" on the top of the page to sign in to a new Twitter account.

You will need to sign off Twitter.com first, in order to sign in to a new account on Tweetvisor. Click on "Sign out from Twitter.com" link before the Sign In button.

Tabbed-Browsing

Tabbed-browsing is Tweetvisor's innovative way to keep all information in a single page, but meanwhile not to create much noise for people using our product. Introduced by us shortly after our startup in January of 2009, tabs allow users to quickly load different timelines in the same area on the screen, without leaving the browser page.

Sidebar Timelines

There are side columns that list user's Mentions, Direct Messages and Hot Topic (search query of interest at one moment) and that keep the users continuously connected with any conversation they might be involved into.

Sleep Mode

This is self explanatory - in order to save and protect your API rate, Tweetvisor automatically goes into Sleep Mode after 30 minutes of inactivity. A session is considered as being active when user actions other than automatic refreshes are performed within a 30 minutes interval.

Main Menu Items

Depending on your current template, Tweetvisor will display a Main Menu either on the left side of the web page or at the top-center.

The top items in this menu are default. Tweetvisor will add new buttons as items to this menu, based on your actions in users’ timelines, mentions, DMs etc. The new menu buttons that you may create on-the-fly are:

  • @username – created every time you click a Twitter username in timelines
  • #tag – created every time you click a tag in timelines
  • $CMPNY – created every time you click a stock ticker in timelines
  • Mentions: @username – created every time you click mentions link under tweets in timelines
  • Trend: #trend – created every time you click a trend at the top of the page
  • Search: savedsearch – created every time you click a saved search topic link
  • Feed: BlogTitle – created every time you click a blog title in Feed Reader tab

Lists

Tweetvisor is an early adopter of Twitter Lists. Hours after they have been officially launched, Tweetvisor added these features to help you manage the Twitter Lists:

  • Syncronize Groups with Lists. If you created Groups before Twitter Lists have been launched, you may export/syncronize your Tweetvisor Groups to Twitter Lists. Follow the link under the Lists drop down box in Friends Timeline or the one in Lists tab on Tweetvisor. Check out the demo video as well.
  • Create a new list. Follow the links and on-screen instructions to create new Twitter Lists via Tweetvisor. A list's name must start with a letter and consist only of 80 or fewer letters, numbers, '-', or '_' characters.
  • Manage Lists. Go to the Lists tab and monitor "Lists you follow" and "Lists following you". More features will soon be implemented in this tab.
  • Tag people/Add to Lists. In any timeline displayed in Tweetvisor, each tweet has a link "Add to Lists" that you can access to quickly add the people that updated that tweet to your Twitter Lists. This is like adding Tags to people you are interested in.
  • Read the Lists. Friends Timeline has a drop down box you can access to display tweets contained in a Twitter Lists.

Hovering "Mentions" Displays "In Reply To"

You probably work with Mentions column. A lot. Tweetvisor helps you figure the reason why people reply to your tweets, by displaying your initial tweet that generated the reply - this happens while you simply hover the replying tweet in your Mentions column on Tweetvisor.

Tweets On Demand

Enables users and businesses to automatically receive a list with just the tweets containing certain keywords and tags from a specific location or area.

This is a background process that starts right after the users add a new search query with their preferred keywords, and that returns new results every day or as tweeted.

For instance, an engineering design company may use this tool to monitor what people say about the 3D modeling tools they use, by adding search keywords such as "3D model, electrical design, mechanical design" or specific brand names.

The results will be displayed as:

  • Tweets - statuses matching your keywords, highlighting the tags found in a specific tweet, and
  • Pics - of people tweeting your keywords from the location you specified (backward compatibility only, for queries created before November 9th, 2009).
We periodically crawl Twitter for new results. Visit this tab often.

Inline thumbs for photos and videos

Tweetvisor is displaying thumbs of the photos and videos found in tweets. The thumbs are listed inline, right under the tweet containing the links to the original media. We currently partner with these services:

  • Photo services - TwitPic, Yfrog, Flickr, TweetPhoto, Pikchur
  • Video services - YouTube, Vimeo, Metacafe

Compare Users

Compare Users feature allows businesses and marketers to check if two specific users may efficiently tweet their messages and communications targeting a maximum number of different users.

Feed Reader

The current Feed Reader feature will soon allow users to entirely manage their favorite online feeds, rather than just reading blog titles as it does today.

Reactions for any shared URL

By partnering with the amazing conversation engine ContextVoice, we basically opened the doors to see what impact does any URL shared on Twitter have for the people who clicked it. ContextVoice API displays in Tweetvisor's interface all the reactions (comments, tweets, conversations) for any URL shared in Twitter timelines. Businesses may find this tool useful to track customer reactions to their blog posts, product launches pages etc.

Saved Searches

Tweetvisor offered Saved Searches since its launch back in January. Integrated and visible search area has been a strong feature that created the buzz for the initial press coverage and people's reactions. Tweetvisor synchronizes Saved Searches with Twitter since they implemented the feature later in the year of 2009.

Tagging People

A link called "Add to lists", placed near every username, enables users to quickly "tag" any people on Twitter and add them to one or more Twitter Lists at a time. Tweetvisor offered this innovative feature for old Groups since early spring of 2009, and we adjusted it after Twitter Lists have been launched.

Branded Templates

Tweetvisor now offers multiple different templates (themes) for its user interface, each of them being arranged in a different way. Businesses may consider ordering their own branded theme to be added to Tweetvisor's templates list.
